Therapies

Modern Medicine has shown us that in trauma it can work miracles. Every healing system has its strengths and weaknesses. There is no healing method that monopolises the medicinal world which is why complimentary medicine should be embraced as it works together with modern medicine, in a common goal to relieve human suffering, working well with diseases that are not trauma related.

Alive Fitness & Natural Health provides 3 treatment rooms and a salon offering a wide range of treatments, all of our therapist work independently at Alive.

Please contact our therapist directly to make a booking for a treatment, you will find a list of our therapists below and which treatments they provide.

Massage is one of the oldest simplest forms of therapy and is a system of stroking, pressure and kneading different areas of the body to relieve pain, relax, stimulate and tone the body.
It stimulates blood circulation and assists the lymphatic system improving the elimination of waste throughout the body.

People with the following conditions should avoid massage or seek medical advice before booking in a treatment.
Heart failure – infection of the superficial veins or soft tissue in the legs or elsewhere – blood clots in the legs – bleeding disorders and contagious skin conditions.

Aromatherapy Massage:

is a holistic treatment that involves the use of essential oils through massage. Aromatherapy can have a profound effect on physical and psychological well-being.

Sports Massage:

The prime purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity.
Sports massage can be deeper and more intense.

Swedish Massage:

Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Physical and emotional traumas can tighten and stiffen the tissue in our bodies and when this happens, the body moves out of a state of natural alignment and loses its flexibility and gravitational balance.
Deep tissue massage focuses on the different layers of tissue (muscle, tendons and fascia), working to relax, lengthen, and release strain patterns within them so that the body’s posture can realign itself.

Alternative & Other Therapies

Acupuncture:

based on the belief that an energy, or ‘life force’, flows through the body in channels called meridians.
Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine in which fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.

Nutrition:

Nutrition is the study of food at work in our bodies, our source for energy, and the medium for which our nutrients can function. Good nutrition means getting the right amount of nutrients from healthy foods.
Having nutrition knowledge and making smart choices about the foods you eat can and will help you achieve optimum health over your lifetime.

Osteopathy:

is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging muscles and joints.
It is based on the principle that the well being of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.
That the body is a functional unit, an integrated unit of mind, body, and spirit.
