Alive offers a wide range of classes for the beginner to the advanced.
Non-members are welcome to all our classes.

CARDIO
Boxercise: A stimulating, high energy work-out using boxing techniques to enhance strength, stamina, weight loss and endurance. This highly addictive class is motivating and a lot of fun. Suitable for everyone.
Dance Aerobics with Body toning: Incorporating hand weights to sculpt the upper body and legs and buttocks. Reshape your whole body with this energizing workout that alternates low impact aerobics with strength training.
Spinning: Have you tried it yet? Intensive 45 minutes workout with no complicated moves to learn, top-notch instructors and music that begs your legs to pedal! Each session is carefully designed to energize and challenge you.
Senior Class- Keep Fit: A conditioning class comprising of low-impact aerobics, incorporating hand weights for body tone. An easy to follow routine to strengthen and stretch all major muscle group.
Shaolin Kung Fu: You will learn a variety of kicks and punches and be shown how to develop fluid and accurate technique together with Chi Gung exercises that encourage the even flow of energy throughout the body.
Zumba: The Latin – inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning, dance fitness party. Feel the music and let loose!
Kettlebell Circuits: Incorporating functional kettlebell swings and lifts alongside dumbbell and bodyweight exercises into Matt’s ever popular Circuit Training class. This class will challenge your whole body throughout all planes of movement with time spent on each station around the studio. You will burn fat, improve muscular strength, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, core stability and flexibility.
DANCE
Adult Ballet: Whether you are a complete beginner or have danced before this is a fun way to get fit what will improve flexibility and balance as well as toning all the major muscle groups.
Jazz Dance: Learn jazz dance moves in a relaxed and fun way. Get your body moving to those Latin jazz rhythms! Beginners always welcome.
Latin Dance Mix: A great fun dance exercise class incorporating Brazilian dance styles such as Lambada and Samba together with Salsa.
ALIVE
Alive Team Fitness Personal Training Hour: Bored of the same routine? Hand it over to one of our trainers! Roll the dice and take a chance on this class! It may be circuit, boxercise, team games, weighted workout, core stability, stretching… or whatever takes their fancy on the day!
Circuit Training: A highly effective whole body work-out using varied stations combining cardiovascular, strength and endurance training.
RESISTANCE
The Whole Body Workout: Get strong, toned and defined with this total Body Conditioning Program. Using dumbbells you will shape and firm your upper and lower body. The floor routine is designed to help flatten your midsection by training your core muscles. Finishing off with a safe and gentle stretch routine that will help release tension.
Weighted Workout: A body workout using barbells and dumbbells. Resistance is the key to acquire the taught, lean look of well-defined muscles. Emphasis is on control and working through a full range of movement. All abilities can work together by varying the weight to suit.
Fitness & Boxing Training: Through boxing you can obtain explosiveness, strength, endurance, speed and self confidence. It is a whole body workout which will consist of; Jumping Rope, shadow boxing, bag work, pad work, partner work. Improve your punches, stance and defense techniques. Train with Ben Murphy; Pro Boxing Southern Area Champion.
Kettlebell Conditioning: Not tried kettlebells before? Come along to this class to learn some of the fundamental swings and lifts. Jenny will incorporate these with other bodyweight, core and cardiovascular exercises to give you a total body workout. You will be encouraged to work at your own level to reap the amazing rewards that functional kettlebell training can offer, improved strength, fat loss, flexibility and stamina.
MIND AND BODY
Core & Stretches: Get a strong well –aligned body by using simple yoga postures to give you an added advantage while sculpting your body. You will work several muscles at the4 same time, stretching one set of muscles while strengthening another. Suitable for all levels, you will improve your core strength and flexibility.
Dynamic/Static Yoga: Intermediate level. Also suitable for beginners with basic fitness/flexibility. A combination of active and still asanas and breathing to create a balance and rejuvenating practice.
Ru Yoga: RU means ‘Light Yoga’ is an eclectic style of practise which includes both static and dynamic posturing, pranyama (breathing exercises) and meditation as well as deep relaxation. Based on the teaching of patanjali’s 8 limbs, the classes are designed to bring about an alignment of the body, mind and spirit and encourage a state of ‘union’ in the participant.

Yoga in motion: A combination of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates to music; designed to enhance body and mind. It’s a fantastic all rounder increasing strength, posture and flexibility whilst also making you calm and relaxed giving all round well being. Here is the way to attain a beautiful body and strike a balance between strength and flexibility. You will elongate your muscles with fluid movements for a long lean look.
